Why We Sometimes Ask for Extra Verification
At Ridee, safety and trust come first. Every trip on our platform starts with verified guests and hosts.
In a few situations, we may ask you to provide additional details or photos to confirm your identity before your booking is approved. This helps us keep the Ridee community safe and maintain confidence between guests and hosts.
Your information is secure and confidential. It's used solely for verification and never shared with other users.
When We May Ask for More Information
You might be asked for extra verification if:
- Your initial verification photos weren't clear or didn't match your profile information
- You have multiple or recently linked Ridee accounts
- A trust or safety flag was triggered during booking
- You're reserving a Premium Class or Ridee+ vehicle that requires higher verification
If this happens, you'll get an email or in-app message explaining what's needed and how to send it.
What We May Request
Depending on your situation, we might ask for one or more of the following:
- Driver's license (front and back): Must be a clear, full photo, no screenshots or cropped images.
- Selfie with your license: A photo of you holding your driver's license beside your face.
- Passport (open to ID page): Only required if your driver's license was issued outside our active operating countries.
- Proof of residence or address: For example, a recent utility bill or bank statement in your name.
These photos help confirm that the documents are valid and belong to you.
How to Submit Your Verification Photos
There are a few secure ways to send your photos:
- Via email: Reply directly to the email you received requesting more verification and attach your photos.
- Via the Ridee app or web chat: Tap Help → Contact Support → Identity Verification, and upload your documents securely.
Please don't paste photos into the body of your email or share cloud storage links. For privacy reasons, we can only process direct file attachments or uploads.
Tips for Smooth Approval
To avoid delays:
- Take your photos in good lighting, avoid flash or filters
- Ensure all corners of your ID are visible
- Hold your phone steady to keep the text sharp and legible
- Avoid scanned copies; we only accept photos of documents in your possession
