Paying through Ridee is fast, safe and worry-free, giving you confidence from booking to checkout.
Ridee offers a reliable payment system that makes every transaction fast, secure and hassle-free, from booking to the end of your trip. Whether you're planning a short drive or a weekend getaway, here's how payments work when booking a car on Ridee.
Payment Methods
We accept a wide range of secure payment options to make your trip setup easy and flexible.
When booking your car, simply select your preferred method and complete payment in-app.
Accepted Methods Include
- Credit or debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and other major cards)
- Mobile money (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money, etc.)
- Bank transfers (for verified users in supported regions)
- Ridee wallet
All payments are currently processed securely through the Flutterwave payment gateway. Your card or account details are never shared with hosts or other users.
When You're Charged
To confirm your booking, Ridee will place an authorization hold on your payment method for the total trip amount.
Once the host accepts your booking request:
- You'll be charged immediately for the trip amount
- You'll receive a confirmation email and in-app notification with your receipt
If your booking is declined or expires, Ridee automatically releases the authorization hold, no action is needed on your part.
Security and Verification
Every Ridee transaction is protected with end-to-end encryption.
We verify all users and monitor payments for unusual activity to prevent fraud or unauthorized use.

Refunds and Cancellations
If your trip is canceled, Ridee automatically initiates a refund based on our cancellation policy.
Refunds typically return to your original payment method within 3–10 business days, depending on your bank or provider.
Note: If you used a Ridee wallet balance, the refunded amount will return to your wallet instantly.
Trip Changes and Additional Fees
If you extend your trip, modify your booking, or request an add-on, Ridee will adjust the total cost accordingly. You'll see the updated total before confirming any changes.
Other Possible Fees May Include
- Late return or trip extension fees
- Fuel or charging reimbursement
- Cleaning or damage fees
- Delivery or pickup charges (set by the host)
All potential charges are clearly displayed before checkout, so you always know what you're paying for.
Tips for Smooth Payments
- Ensure your card or mobile money account has sufficient balance before booking
- Use the same name on your Ridee account as on your payment method to avoid verification delays
- Keep your payment notifications enabled for instant updates
- If a payment fails, try another method or contact your bank to authorize online transactions
